Quito, Ecuador

En route to Quito, we first had to bus to Catamayo and stay one night.  Catamayo isn’t much to write home about (hot and dusty on the outskirts of town), but it had a nice park area where we found some shade and did some “people watching”.  Then we ventured into Sunday night mass before retreating to our hotel room for the night.

The next morning we headed to the airport (the AIRPORT!) to catch our flight to Quito.  I get so excited when I see the airport traffic control tower and the runway.  And even though this airport was small and seemingly quiet at 6am, I had the same excitement as ever–maybe slightly more than normal 🙂
